Valparaiso & Viña del Mar Day Trip from Santiago

Description

Journey from the Andes to the Ocean in one day. Discover the vibrant colors of Valparaíso (UNESCO World Heritage) and the elegant gardens of Viña del Mar, passing through the famous wine valleys of Chile. The Experience: We will pick you up at your hotel in Santiago around 08:00 AM, heading towards the Pacific Coast. Taste of Tradition: On our way through the Curacaví and Casablanca Valleys (famous for Sauvignon Blanc), we will stop at "Millahue" to taste Chicha, a traditional Chilean sweet drink. The Jewel of the Pacific: Upon arriving in Valparaíso, you will understand why it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will explore its amphitheater layout, where colorful houses hang from the hills. City Highlights: We will visit Plaza de la Victoria, Plaza Sotomayor, and the Navy Heroes Monument. Funiculars & Hills: The best way to experience the city is from above. We will walk through the iconic Cerro Alegre and ride the historic funiculars (elevators) built between 1883-1902, immersing ourselves in the local "Porteño" culture and enjoying the view from Paseo 21 de Mayo. The Garden City: Our journey continues to Viña del Mar. Here, the scenery changes to beautiful parks and beaches. We will see the famous Flower Clock (Reloj de Flores), the Casino, and the Reñaca beach area. Lunch & Relax: You will have free time in Reñaca for lunch (own expense) and a walk on the beach. Music & History: Before returning, we visit the Quinta Vergara, home to the International Song Festival, passing by the scenic coastal road.

Expert Advice

Safety and Logistics Recommendations Keep your belongings safe: Since we will make several stops along the route, we highly recommend taking your valuables (cameras, documents, cash, and electronic devices) with you every time you leave the vehicle. Please note that the company is not responsible for items lost or left behind inside the transport. Bring cash: We strongly advise bringing cash (preferably in the local currency and small bills). Many of the local shops, roadside stops, and artisan markets along the route do not have electronic payment terminals and do not accept credit or debit cards. What to Bring Warm clothing in layers: Weather conditions along the route can change quickly. We recommend dressing in layers (base layer, fleece/sweater, and a windbreaker jacket). Closed-toe, comfortable footwear: Ideally trekking shoes or sneakers with good grip to ensure safe walking on uneven terrain. Hydration: At least 1 liter of still water per person to stay properly hydrated throughout the trip.
