🌋 Day Trip: Osorno Volcano & Petrohué Falls Explore the heart of the Chilean Lake District on this 8-hour adventure. We depart from Puerto Varas, traveling along the shores of Llanquihue Lake with the snow-capped Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes as our backdrop. 🏔️ Osorno Volcano Ascent We will head to the Ensenada sector to begin our climb to the Osorno Volcano Ski & Mountain Center, situated at 1,240 meters (4,068 ft) above sea level. Breathtaking Views: Spend an hour taking in the eternal glaciers, the Calbuco volcano, and even the Pacific Ocean on clear days. Optional Heights: You may enjoy a break at the local coffee shop or take the chairlifts (optional) to reach up to 1,750 meters (5,741 ft) for a stunning perspective of the landscape. 💧 Petrohué Falls and Emerald Waters Next, we visit the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. Nature Walk: Enjoy a gentle hike through evergreen forests surrounding the turquoise Petrohué River. The Falls: For a small entrance fee, we will witness the Petrohué Falls, where the river crashes over ancient crystallized lava formations. The vibrant colors and unique geological structures make this an essential Patagonian stop.

Payment must be made directly at the ticket office, where both cash and credit/debit cards are accepted. Current rates per person are: Chilean Adult: $3,700 CLP Foreign Adult / Foreign Senior: $7,000 CLP Osorno Volcano Cable Car (Optional activity): During our visit to the volcano, you will have the opportunity to ride the chairlift/cable car up to the highest viewpoint. The price per person is $23,000 CLP. Alternatively, if you are in good physical condition and properly dressed, you may opt to hike up for free. Warm Clothing in Layers: Mountain weather can change drastically. We recommend dressing in layers (thermal base layer, fleece/sweater, and a windbreaker jacket). Closed-toe, Comfortable Footwear: Trekking shoes or sneakers with good traction to walk safely on volcanic ash and uneven terrain. Weather Accessories: Beanie and thermal gloves for protection against the wind and cold, as well as sunglasses with UV protection and high-factor sunscreen (radiation is highly intense on the volcano). Constant Hydration: At least 1.5 liters of still water per person to stay hydrated throughout the trip.
