What to Bring Warm Clothing in Layers: Mountain weather can change drastically. We recommend dressing in layers (thermal base layer, fleece/sweater, and a windbreaker jacket). Closed-toe, Comfortable Footwear: Trekking shoes or sneakers with good traction to walk safely on volcanic ash and uneven terrain. Weather Accessories: Beanie and thermal gloves for protection against the wind and cold, as well as sunglasses with UV protection and high-factor sunscreen (radiation is extremely intense in snow and volcano areas). Constant Hydration: At least 1.5 liters of still water per person to stay properly hydrated throughout the trip.
