Pablo Neruda Tour: Isla Negra, Poetry, and Pomaire Crafts Embark on a cultural immersion journey that combines the fascinating life and work of Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda with traditional Chilean craftsmanship. This full-day excursion will take you from Santiago to the central coast and the Central Valley. 🌊 Isla Negra: The Poet’s Retreat We will depart from your hotel between 07:30 and 08:00 AM. Taking the Carretera del Sol (Sun Highway), we will arrive at the central coast, to the mythical retreat of Isla Negra, now converted into a House-Museum. The House-Museum: Neruda built this house to live surrounded by his passions. During the visit, you will discover how collections of bottles, seashells, and an imposing figurehead became the constant source of inspiration for his poetry. It is a tangible testament to his fascination with the sea. After the visit to Neruda's house (museum entrance is not included), we will have time for lunch in the surrounding area (lunch is not included in the tour). 🏺 Pomaire: Tradition and Chilean Clay Pottery After lunch, we will begin the return trip to Santiago, with an essential stop at the famous traditional village of Pomaire. Chilean Typical Zone: This town is nationally recognized as a Typical Zone (Zona Típica), and its main characteristic is the production of clay crafts (greda). Here, you can observe the work of artisans and purchase unique pieces that represent the tradition of the Central Valley. A perfect fusion between Chilean literature and the ancestral culture of craftsmanship!
