Description

Lake Llanquihue Circuit and Osorno Volcano Ascent: The German Heritage Route Embark on a full-day excursion that will immerse you in the scenic beauty and rich history of the Lakes Region (Región de Los Lagos). This tour blends the cultural heritage of German settlers with the majestic landscape of volcanoes, lakes, and native forests. 🏡 Frutillar and the Settlers’ Route (Ruta de los Colonos) We begin our journey in Puerto Varas and head north to the city of Llanquihue, where the typical German architecture is evident. Next, we will skirt Lake Llanquihue along the beautiful Settlers’ Route until we reach the region's jewel, Frutillar: Frutillar: Noted for its well-maintained gardens, the traditional wooden architecture of its old German settlers' houses, and an unparalleled view of the Osorno and Puntiagudo Volcanoes. German Colonial Museum: We will visit this historic site (entrance not included), which recreates the old area of a German Estancia, featuring the Country House, the Blacksmith's House, the Bell Tower, and the Water Mill. Puerto Octay: We continue along the route, passing through this picturesque town, marked by German colonization and declared a Typical Zone (Zona Típica), surrounded by lakeside landscapes like Puerto Fonck, Puerto Clocker, and Río Blanco. 🌋 Ascent to the Osorno Volcano Ski and Mountain Center Upon arriving at Ensenada, we will begin the exciting ascent of Osorno Volcano. Along the way, we will make strategic stops to enjoy natural viewpoints such as La Burbuja Crater and Los Pumas Viewpoint before reaching our destination. Ski and Mountain Center: We will ascend to 1,240 meters (4,070 ft) of altitude. Here you will have time to explore the viewpoints and revel in the panoramic scenery and the spectacular view of the volcanoes with their eternal snow caps (Osorno and Calbuco), as well as appreciating the full magnitude of Lake Llanquihue. Optional: Passengers may purchase a coffee or sandwich at the local cafeteria or take the chairlift (service not included) to ascend to the Primavera Station (1,450 m / 4,757 ft) or the Glacier Station (1,750 m / 5,741 ft) for even more spectacular views. A comprehensive experience that merges European culture with the untamed Patagonian beauty!
